The Future of Cloud in 2030
"Gartner projects that by 2030, companies that fail to optimize their infrastructure spend will pay over 50% more than those that do, and cloud compute is no exception."
Is Your Azure Spend Drifting Higher Than It Should?
Unused resources, oversized workloads, and missing tags add up quietly. Our free Azure Cost Optimization Assessment shows you where. In your assessment, you’ll receive:
- A current-state analysis of your Azure resources
- A 30/60/90-day cost forecast
- Identified opportunities for ongoing savings
- Guidance on FinOps hygiene and governance
If the findings warrant it, your next step is the Azure TrustedAdvisor Program, with a dedicated architect to carry it out.
Why Azure Costs Creep Back
Azure cloud optimization is never done. New services launch, older SKUs are retired, dev and test resources outlive their projects, and every extra gigabyte written to storage adds to the bill. Most organizations do not lack tools. They lack the dedicated expertise and continuity to act on what the tools show.
Stat: 29% of cloud spend is wasted, up from 27% a year earlier and the first increase in five years (Flexera, 2026 State of the Cloud Report). Share of IaaS and PaaS spend that survey respondents estimated as wasted.
A one-time assessment finds the waste. If nobody owns the fixes, the savings come back as new resources are added.
TrustedAdvisor assigns a named Azure architect who learns your workloads, teams, and goals and remains accountable for the improvement plan month after month.
What Is the Azure TrustedAdvisor Program?
TrustedAdvisor is TrustedTech’s advisory-led Azure managed services program. You get a dedicated cloud architect, monthly cost, security, and governance reviews, and a quarterly business review, all under a 12-month agreement.
The five goals of the program:
- Bolster savings: Continuous right-sizing, reservation and savings plan modeling, storage tiering, and scheduling.
- Reduce security risk: Monthly Defender for Cloud and benchmark reviews, with fixes prioritized by risk, dependency, and owner.
- Optimize consumption: Right-sizing, forecasting, and resource planning.
- Strengthen governance: Azure Policy, access reviews, tagging standards, and management group structure.
- Recalibrate monthly: Every cycle ends with next month’s objectives and a sequenced remediation backlog.
Long-term results
Why is it ongoing?
TrustedAdvisor is not a one-time engagement; it is a continuous partnership focused on long-term optimization. Your advisor stays engaged in your environment, learns from trends, identifies improvement opportunities, and applies what TrustedTech's Azure architects see across hundreds of Azure customer environments.
The result is a technology strategy that evolves with your business, so you spend more time optimizing and less time reacting.
What Happens Every Month

Onboarding Scan (First Month)
We map resources and configuration across subscriptions and resource groups, sets monthly baselines for utilization, cost drivers, and dependencies, and reviews policy assignments, RBAC, tagging, management groups, identity, connectivity, and landing zone alignment. Critical risks and quick wins are documented. If you have already completed a TrustedTech assessment, this step builds on it. -

Pillar 1: Cost Optimization Workshop
We track consumption trends and idle assets, right-size compute, database, and storage, and model reservations, tiering, scheduling, and license benefits like Azure Hybrid Benefit. Budgets and alerts catch spikes in days, not at invoice time, and every action is ranked by savings, effort, and owner. We optimize for the right size, not the lowest tier, because the cheapest option is often the slowest, and your users notice. -

Pillar 2: Security Optimization Workshop
We review Defender for Cloud and benchmark findings, from misconfigurations to exposed services, and track policy compliance, vulnerability exposure, and remediation coverage by scope. We assess your guardrails for preventing and detecting incidents, flag the gaps, and rank every action by risk, dependency, and owner. We show where the risk sits and help you decide whether to fix, accept, or mitigate it. The decision stays with you. -

Pillar 3: Governance Optimization Workshop
We review Azure Policy coverage, initiative design, and exemption hygiene across management groups and subscriptions, and align RBAC design and privileged access processes with least privilege. We tighten naming standards, tagging taxonomy, and resource group structure so lifecycle management and reporting stay clean. And policy-based checks let you run a pre-audit on your own schedule, so you know what to change before the auditors show up.

Your Path to Azure Cloud Optimization
An assessment tells you what to fix. Azure TrustedAdvisor is how it gets fixed.
- Free Azure Cost Optimization Assessment. A current-state analysis of your resources, a 30/60/90-day cost forecast, identified savings, and guidance on FinOps hygiene and governance.
- Assessment and Optimization Project (if you need a deeper pass). A scoped project, typically four to eight weeks, that produces a prioritized remediation backlog.
- TrustedAdvisor Program. Your architect works through that backlog with you, every month, and keeps the environment from drifting back.
Larger Azure environments can move straight into TrustedAdvisor after the free assessment.
Azure Advisor vs. TrustedAdvisor
The difference between Azure Advisor and Azure TrustedAdvisor comes down to who does the thinking. Azure Advisor is Microsoft’s built-in tool that scans your resources and lists recommendations. TrustedTech’s Azure TrustedAdvisor Program pairs you with a named architect who decides which of those recommendations matter for your workloads, assigns owners, and follows up.

REAL CLIENT RESULTS
We Found $55K in Annualized Savings
A five-subscription Azure tenant, reviewed April 2026:
- £25.8K combined monthly spend at review (£309K annualised)
- £3,470 per month in identified savings (£41.6K annualised)
- 69 / 100 average starting FinOps score, ranging from 44 to 93
Where the identified savings were:
- Idle resources (43% of savings): 57 idle SQL databases plus idle VMs
- Right-sizing (39%): 6 over-provisioned VMs
- Reservations (12%): 1-year reservations across VM, SQL, and storage
- Configuration (4%): Premium to Standard SSD swaps
- Orphaned resources and scheduling (2%): 4 orphaned static IPs and snapshots with no owner, plus off-hours shutdowns
Most of the savings sat in idle and oversized resources. The tenant also had no subscription-level tagging policy enforced, so there was no consistent way to tell who owned them. That is the gap a monthly governance cycle closes.

In-House Hire or TrustedAdvisor?
An in-house Azure engineer means salary, benefits, tools, training, and recruiting, plus one person's vacation, sick days, and attrition covering cost, security, and governance at once.
TrustedAdvisor gives you a dedicated architect plus access to TrustedTech's wider bench of Azure specialists when a project calls for it, such as a Microsoft Fabric move, without a permanent hire.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Azure managed services, Azure Advisor, and the TrustedAdvisor Program.
What is the Azure TrustedAdvisor Program?
It is TrustedTech's ongoing, advisory-led Azure managed services program. As Azure advisory services go, it is built around continuity: a dedicated cloud architect runs monthly cost, security, and governance workshops, delivers a State of Azure report, assigns an owner to every recommendation, and meets with you quarterly. The minimum term is 12 months.
How is TrustedAdvisor different from Azure Advisor?
Azure Advisor is Microsoft's automated recommendation tool. TrustedAdvisor adds a named architect who weighs those recommendations against your workloads, ranks them by savings, effort, and risk, and tracks them to completion.
Is there an Azure Trusted Advisor?
Microsoft's built-in recommendation tool for Azure is called Azure Advisor. AWS has its own, unrelated tool named Trusted Advisor. TrustedTech's Azure TrustedAdvisor Program is a separate service: a dedicated architect who reviews your Azure environment every month and tracks the fixes to completion.
What are Azure managed services, and is TrustedAdvisor one?
Azure managed services usually mean a provider runs ongoing operations for your environment, such as monitoring, patching, and incident response. TrustedAdvisor is an advisory-led version: it covers cost, security posture, and governance every month, and it does not include round-the-clock operations or incident response. Many clients use it alongside the team or provider that runs day-to-day operations.
How is TrustedAdvisor different from a typical Azure managed services provider?
A typical Azure managed services provider runs your day-to-day operations. TrustedAdvisor focuses on making the environment cheaper, safer, and better governed, with a named architect, a fixed monthly cycle, and an action tracking dashboard. The Scope section above lists exactly what is and is not included.
Do we need to buy Azure through TrustedTech's Azure CSP?
TrustedTech is a Microsoft Direct CSP, and TrustedAdvisor works best alongside Azure billed through TrustedTech, because the architect works from the same cost data you see on your invoice. If your Azure is billed another way, ask us about your options.
How is it different from a one-time Azure cost assessment?
An assessment happens once and produces a list of recommendations. TrustedAdvisor is the monthly process that carries them out and keeps the environment from drifting back.
How much can we save, and how soon?
We target 10-30% of eligible Azure spend, depending on the assessment’s findings. Early savings typically come from idle resources, right-sizing, and reservations, and many clients see them begin within the first three months. Security and governance improvements are built over the full 12 months.
What does it cost?
Pricing is set in a statement of work based on the size and scope of your Azure environment, with fees invoiced in twelve equal monthly installments. If your support plan includes a Professional Services credit, it can be applied toward the program. Clients in this program have consistently achieved savings that exceed the total cost of the engagement.
Will TrustedTech make changes in our environment?
TrustedAdvisor is advisory by default. Your architect recommends and prioritizes; hands-on remediation or modernization work is scoped separately when you want it.
Does TrustedAdvisor include 24/7 security monitoring?
No. Your architect reviews your security posture monthly and prioritizes fixes, but TrustedAdvisor is not a round-the-clock monitoring or incident-response service.
What access do you need?
Your architecture diagrams and resource inventories, a designated IT contact, and the permissions needed to assess your subscriptions for the duration of the engagement.
Does it cover hybrid or multi-cloud environments?
TrustedAdvisor is focused on Azure. If you run hybrid workloads through Azure Arc or keep some workloads in other clouds, your architect accounts for how Azure fits into the larger picture.
